Born in Barcelona, Miriam moved to the UK in 1979. She studied 3D Design at Brighton School of Art and has been a practising artist since graduating. Her work has been exhibited widely in the UK and internationally, and is represented in public and private collections. In 2018 she won the BP Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery, London, with her acclaimed portrait of her mother An Angel at my Table. Her many prestigious sitters have included The Late Queen Elizabeth II for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Miriam is a member of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. She lives and works in London.
