"What is a painting trying to achieve? An impression of a fleeting moment or an aspect of the human condition with all its sensuality, insecurity and fragility? The latter is the more dominant thought when I paint. The female form the representation of that sensibility. Such lofty ambitions maybe easily expressed in words but to construct a painting that emotionally connects or confronts is a challenge."
