Original hand drawn point papers - the pre-CAD instructions that allowed skilled weavers to translate complicated fabric designs to their looms. What had been a manual process was revolutionised by the invention of the Jacquard machine in France in 1801 but the point papers were still hand drawn up until 1980s. This collection charts the changing styles and fashions throughout a century of the fabric industry on both sides of the Channel.
