Helen Turner (1937-2023)

Born in Prestwick, Ayrshire. Helen joined the design studio of James Templeton while also attending Glasgow School of Art in the evenings through most of the 1950s where she was tutored by Trevor Makinson and William Gallagher. She became a documented designer for Aubusson and Beauvais, travelling throughout the world – her designs can still be found in the Waldorf Astoria, the Turnberry Hotel and the San Francisco Opera House. She has painted full time for many years and exhibited widely. Her work is represented in the corporate collections of Flemings, Dunedin Fund Managers and the TSB.
