A Yorkshireman born and bred, Bertram Priestman was a very modern artist at the end of the 19th Century, joining the young Turks of the day he grew into one of the best known landscape and portrait painters of the early 20th Century. An inspirational teacher he greatly influenced the work of his best known pupil, Edward Seago.
