One of Britain’s best known figurative realist painters, Mary Jane has been selected on four occasions for the BP Portrait Award (now The Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer ) and has hung in the Threadneedle Art Prize and Royal Society of Portrait Painters. Her work is represented in the public collections of the National Portrait Gallery, London, Brighton and Hove Museums, the New Salem Museum in Massachusetts, and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art in Indiana. Her paintings feature in both private and institutional collections worldwide and have appeared on the covers of several New York Times bestselling novels, including the most recent edition of Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go. Her work is also included in the Lunar Codex project, permanently archived on the Moon as part of the Polaris Collection. One of her more celebrated collectors is musician Adam Ant who featured two of her paintings on the cover of his album: Adam Ant is The BlueBlack Hussar In Marrying The Gunners Daughter.
