About Charles Simpson

Charles is one of the best loved landscape painters working in Scotland today. Born in 1952, he studied at Glasgow School of Art in the early 1970s and then worked as a graphic designer in Edinburgh. He left full-time employment in 1990 and moved to the Scottish Borders to work as a freelance designer and artist. Charles had his first solo exhibition in 1991 and became a full-time artist in 1999. He has had solo shows in Edinburgh and London on a regular basis and had his first solo show with Panter & Hall in 2003
