Born in Chelsea, London in 1940, John studied at Camberwell School of Art from 1956 to 1959. A plein air painter and portraitist, he has exhibited widely with commercial galleries in London. Past commissions have come from Daiichi Jitsugyo Co Ltd, Tokyo; H Genthner, Commerzbank Frankfurt; London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and James Dingeman QC. He is a member of the Small Paintings Group, Fulham Artists and Potters, the Chelsea Art Society, and the London Sketch Club, the serving the latter as president. He currently serves as the treasurer of the Small Paintings group.
