
Born in Esher, Surrey in 1945, she studied technical illustration at Kingston School of Art and the London College of Printing. She took further studies at the Kathleen Browne School of Painting and has been very much been influenced by the late Ronald Benham NEAC. Initially working in a commercial art department she left to focus on her painting and the family farm, the latter providing much inspiration. She has exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, the New English Art Club and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. In 2011 Ann won the de Laszlo Medal at the Royal Society of British Artists where she is a senior member .
