{"title":"ALISTAIR LITTLE: SHORELINES| 11th - 16th May 2026","description":"\u003cp\u003eWhen I approached Tiffany and Matthew about the idea of presenting a small collection of new paintings I didn’t have the slightest idea what those paintings would be or what theme would unify them.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eI did know that it had been 8 years since I’d shown a collection with Panter and Hall and it felt like the right time to paint a group of stories again. One of the great joys of making paintings for me is that images and stories will begin to suggest themselves if I start sketching and exploring (often with no idea of where I’m going). Water very quickly suggested itself. I love the water, being in it, on it or standing by it. I’m a keen swimmer and paddle boarder and my Scottish roots ensured I was never far from a beautiful coastline or a stunning loch or lake.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eSo with this theme in mind I’ve created 8 paintings set by shorelines of all kinds. The narratives are all steeped in the idea of what it feels like to be in a beautiful twilit bay or by the sunbaked Ionian Sea, or being dangerously close to an awe inspiring wave. My love of narrative and film making is infused in these works.
