"I want to paint the everyday world of the present in all its aspects. To seize upon what is important and beautiful in what is disregarded and overlooked. To illustrate the daily journey out. To move on a trajectory from inside to outside, from looking inwards to looking outwards. To represent the everyday with the force of a revelation, the intensity of a vision and the quality of a found object."

Joe Schneider's work has appeared in many group exhibitions including BEING PRESENT at The Jerwood Space in 2004 and the BP Portrait Award and the Discerning Eye in 2002. He was the recipient of the Carroll Award for Portraiture, awarded by the Royal Society of Portrait Painters, in 2002.
