Having spent a decade exploring abstract constructionism his recent return to figurative oil painting has brought his work to the attention of a nationwide audience through a series of exhibitions in London and Edinburgh. His eclectic influences range from Braque and Ben Nicholson to the Edinburgh painter Barbara Rae who tutored Simon at Glasgow School of Art.
