This recent series of landscapes has been a result of several trips to various locations in the north of Scotland over the last two years. I returned to Aberdeenshire, a region that has always proved a huge inspiration for me in all weather. It was here that I grew up and later painted my first landscapes. Further trips to Loch Ness, Glen Urquhart and the area west from there towards Skye, provided more stimulus for these new paintings. Finally, I explored the islands of Mull and Iona, both of which presented additional rich perspectives on the wonderful Scottish landscape in all its varied seasons and moods.
