Prof Carel Weight CH RA RBA RWA LG (1908 - 1997) Born in London of German and Swedish descent, Weight studied at Hammersmith School of Art and later Goldsmith's College in the 1920s and 30s. Throughout a varied career he was appointed an official war artist in the Second War, produced a mural for the Festival of Britain and a commission for Manchester Cathedral.
