'Spanish Maine' Watercolour, 17" x 16" |
Richard Thorn (born 1952) Richard Thorn was born in Devon in 1952 and studied art at Newton Abbot School of Art. His work is traditionally British in its treatment of landscape, however, his early influences were the work of American masters such as Winslow Homer, Andrew Wyeth, Edward Hopper and Philip Jameson and the artist's style owes much to these contemporary exponents of the watercolour medium. His remarkable talent for capturing the essence of a landscape and conveying it to paper with what seems consummate ease has led to numerous exhibitions and collectors including Princess Michael of Kent.
