Anne Redpath OBE RSA ARA ARWS (1895-1965)

Born in Galashiels, Redpath trained at Edinburgh College of Art from 1913 to 1919.  She visited Brussels, Bruges, Paris, Florence and Siena on a travelling Scholarship in 1919.  Marriage took her to France for fifteen years and on her return to Hawick in the mid 1930s her painting career began to blossom.  Her first one man show was held in Edinburgh in 1947.  Throughout her career she returned to the continent for inspiration, exhibiting the results with great success at the main public institutions.
