Barbara Rae CBE RA RSA RSW (born 1943)

Born in Edinburgh Barbara studied at the Edinburgh College of Art form 1960 to 1965.  On graduating she took up a successful career in teaching, retiring from the Glasgow School of Art in the 1990s.  One of Scotland's best known living painters her work hangs in public and private collections worldwide, notably the Whitworth in Manchester and the British Museum.
