Fred Hall RBC NEAC (1860 - 1948) Born at Stillington in Yorkshire, Hall studied at Lincoln School of Art and at Verlat's Academy in Antwerp in the early 1880s. He settled briefly in Newlyn in 1885 but had moved to Somerset by the end of the decade. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, the New English Art Club, the Fine Art Society and the Paris Salon where he won a gold medal in 1912. Hall specialised in impressionistic landscapes painted in warm glowing colour often painted plein-air. |
