Robin Craig Guthrie RP NEAC (1902-1971) A Scottish painter, Gutherie studied at the Slade School of Art from 1918 to 1922 under Wilson Steer and Henry Tonks. In the early 1930's he was joint director of painting and drawing at the school of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, USA and later taught at St Martins School of Art, City and Guilds School and the Royal College of Art. Gutherie exhibited widely and his work can be found in the collections of the Tate, the British Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and the National Portrait Gallery.
