Frederick Gore at The Panter and Hall Fine Art Gallery

'A Portrait of Lily'

Oil on canvas, 20" x 16"

Frederick Gore CBE RA (born 1913)

One of the Royal Academy's most senior members, Freddie studied at the Ruskin School while at Oxford in the 1930s and later at the Slade.  His paintings adorn the walls of most public art galleries up and down the United Kingdom and his popular views of France have been widely reproduced.  An important artist, Freddie Gore's work from the 1940s and 1950s is considered his strongest period and consequently is hardest to find.
