Sir David Young Cameron RA RSA RSW RWS RE ROI (1865-1945)

Born in Glasgow, he studied at Glasgow School of Art and the Royal Scottish Academy Schools. He was commissioned as an official artist to the Canadian Government during the Great War. Cameron enjoyed a successful artistic career and was noted particularly for his etching. In 1933 he was appointed the King’s Painter and Limner in Scotland and became a trustee of the Scottish National Galleries and the Tate in London.
