Gary Bunt (born 1957)

Born in 1957 in East Peckham Kent, Gary was due to attend Maidstone College of Art but started playing guitar professionally instead. At the age of thirty, he turned his back on the rock & roll lifestyle and all that it entailed. Gary then began to paint professionally and, following his diagnosis of cancer in 2001, his paintings have enjoyed a renewed vigour. His subject matter often derives from personal memories and everyday impressions, every element characteristically executed with wit and cheerful nostalgia.
