'Redcurrants and Sugar Caster' Oil on paper 16" x 20" |
Victoria Blake-Tyler One of England's best known representational still life painters, Victoria has spent a life time in painting. Her studies took her to Paris and Florence under Senora Simi and to the studio of Helmut Ruheman in the 1960s after which she embarked on a highly successful career as a picture restorer for twenty years. Victoria returned to painting full time in the 1980s with solo exhibitions at Spink and Collins & Hastie, London. Her exquisite Oils are an imaginative balance between the 17th and 18th Century Spanish masters who are her principle inspiration and the vibrant palate that she derives from the intense light at her Majorcan home.
