Olson was a painter born in 1903 in Skabersjö. He studied under Tage Hansson at Skanska painting school in Malmo, and later at the Maison Watteau in Paris. In 1929, he moved to France and never looked back, marrying a French woman and drawing inspiration from the country. It was from the outskirts of Paris that he painted many of his landscapes and his travels round France and Spain resulted a memorable series of harbour views. Olson exhibited widely especially in Sweden and his work can be found in the collections of Intitut Tessin, Paris, Malmo Museum, Helsingborg , Landskrona , Ystad and Kristian.
