Educated in art and art history at Eton College and Edinburgh University, David Rycroft received his first national art award aged 19. He taught art in London for ten years until 2005.
To celebrate 40 years of its Man and Biosphere programme, UNESCO presented an exhibition of his paintings in Paris in 2011.
His latest series of paintings are large oil-on-canvas en-plein-air cityscapes. These panoramic compositions celebrate classical architecture and the colourful human presence that animates these luminous spaces.
