Steven Spurrier (1878 - 1961) RA RBA ROI
Born in London Spurrier was initially apprenticed to a silversmith while studing at Heatherley's School of Art in the evenings. He worked as a professional illustrator for many years, principally for the illustrated London News. He was a prolific exhibitor at all the London institutions including the Royal Academy. His work is represented in the Tate Gallery and the V&A
